Bayonna

Hi all

We arrived in Bayonna last night at 7pm ut and after moving twice on the marina we finally managed to get our birth. We had a super sail getting here. The sun shon, wind about a force 4, dolphins playing on the bow, spinnaker flying, it doesn't get much better. The weather is decidedly getting warmer, thankfully and everyone was getting a little hot on the boat yesterday which was very pleasant. The forecast looks good for the rest of the week with a large anticyclone off to the west.

Bayonna is a beautiful little town on the edge of Spain and close to the Portuguise border. It is mediaveal in origne and the old city is still intact with tiny streetss and shops. It was here that christopher columbus landed back after discovering the americas and so its position as an atlantic trading port became established. There is a replica of the Pinta, one of columbuses ships here in the harbour and I think the guys are going to visit the museum later.

We leave again tomorrow morning and head for viano de Castelo in Portugal which is about 50 miles south of us then spend a day there and then down to lisbon.

Will try to send some photos later but internet acess is only available through internet cafes.

Bye for now
