lisbon

hi all

well jessy has left lisbon and is on her way to maderia. I have returned to ireland to help gail with the london boat show and to start planning for next seasons course. David Broadly from good old blighty has taken over comand for the easy bit !!!

We all had a very nice relaxing time in Cascais with fab dinning at incredible prices and groovey bars. Sunday was spent getting jessy ready for her voyage as she will be at sea for 4 days (her longest yet) and all her fittings were checked and lubbed. The guys were shown how to rig the storm jib, set the drogue and how to put in the porthole blanking plates should the need arise.

I have been in contact with david over the sat phone today and all is well she is currently about 150 miles sw of spain and about 400 miles from maderia, I am told the weather is a gentle force 2/3 from the east and the boys are all in their nickers and filp flops, ( i assume this is a british navy term for its pleasent weather and not litteral).
Sue and the boys here wer out sailing this morning in adrigole harbour even though the it was blowing old boots. Just goes to show how far they have come. this pm they are in the class room having passage planning races.
We hope tony has got over his bout of gastro interitis (spelling) and the antibiotics worked(no matter how amusing it was to watch the poor lad run for the marina toilets with loo rool flying behind him tee hee).
Will sign off for now.
Pictures tomorrow promise
Niall
