Hi All,
Well were just off the Lisbon cost and heading for a small town called cascais at the entrance to the Ria Tejo, We plan to spend about 24 hours there to refuel and restock before our final voyage to lanzarote which should take about 5 or 6 days.
We had a great run down the Portuguese coast dodging the shipping lanes but with the vis so good and the Radar we didn’t worry. Beautiful sunsets moonlit nights and glorious sunny days not much wind and we motored the whole way.
The weather is hotting up at last and Sean was the first to done the shorts and even tempted a swim but chickened out. I followed with my shrts and then Ivan. Amazing the day before we were wearing our fleeces and thermals and now shorts.
Bettine unfortunately had to leave us in La couruna as she had developed an infection crossing Biscay and it got bigger and bigger. We went to the hospital in La Coruna and they removed the infection with scalpels!! They stitched her up telling her to report to the hospital every day for the next 5 days. Unfortunately we couldn’t wait that long and it was eventually agreed she should go home and get some one to look at it at home who she could understand. We are hopeful that she can join us in Lisbon.
All for now
Niall
